Biography
Dr. Yaziji is the founder and Medical Director of Vitro Molecular Laboratories and the medical education organization Pathology Learning Centers. An international expert, Dr. Yaziji, American Board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and cytopathology, is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
He received his M.D. degree from the University of Damascus in 1989 and completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Louisville in 1996. He subsequently completed fellowships in Surgical Pathology and Breast Pathology at the University of Washington in 1997 and 1998, followed by Cytopathology fellowship training at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 1999.
Dr. Yaziji has published numerous original clinical research studies in peer-reviewed journals, serves on editorial boards, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the International Society of Applied Immunohistochemistry and Molecular Morphology (ISIMM).
Through ASCO/CAP and other professional organizations, Dr. Yaziji participated in establishing national guidelines for ER, HER2, and cancer biomarker testing. He has provided diagnostic and expert pathology consultation services to hospitals since 1999.
