Biography

Dr. Christina Duckworth Stelton is a board-certified pathologist specializing in anatomic and clinical pathology and hematology. She joined Manatee Pathology Associates in 2022 after serving as a staff pathologist with Suncoast Pathology in Venice, Florida, for more than five years. Her clinical expertise includes surgical pathology, hematopathology, and laboratory medicine.

Dr. Stelton earned her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in zoology. She completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Emory University Hospital, where she was elected by her peers to serve as chief resident. She subsequently completed fellowships at Emory in hematopathology and surgical pathology.

Throughout her career, Dr. Stelton has demonstrated a strong commitment to diagnostic quality, physician collaboration, and laboratory excellence. Her experience includes serving on a hospital clinical quality improvement and privileges committee, leading a College of American Pathologists laboratory inspection team, and completing a quality improvement initiative that enhanced test utilization following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Dr. Stelton has authored and presented research in hematopathology, surgical pathology, and laboratory medicine at national professional meetings. She has also contributed to the education of pathology residents, medical students, and medical technology students. Recognized by her peers with multiple SRQ Magazine Top Doctors awards, Dr. Stelton is fluent in Spanish and remains active in several leading pathology organizations.
